A solution to improve the energy efficiency of aluminum smelting by preheating prebaked anodes is proposed. The reduction of electricity consumption is calculated, and the advantages of the prebaked anode preheating technology are assessed. Pilot tests of the anode preheating technology were prepared and conducted.
